The Role

You will be our first in-house recruiter. We’re accelerating our growth and you’ll be a key partner in making this happen. We are currently at ~30 FTEs, which is roughly double where we were a year ago.

“Growth at all costs” is not in our DNA, but if anything, we’ve been too conservative in hiring, and a recruiter who knows how to build a company will quickly become a trusted resource.

If you have several years of recruiting experience, and a strong point of view on how the job should be done, this is an excellent opportunity to define the function and make a huge impact.

As the first in-house recruiter, you’ll be covering both engineering and business roles. Over time, however, as we grow the recruiting team, you can choose to specialize more. Currently, hiring US-based engineers is our biggest challenge, however, so candidates who have a track record of hiring engineers for venture-backed startups will have an advantage.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead talent acquisition efforts to drive an effective and professional interview process, including updating and posting jobs, owning our ATS, candidate screening and sourcing, courtship, coordinating interview schedules, and closing of candidates to identify and hire top talent

  • Partner with hiring managers to define roles and ideal candidate profiles; maintain a two-way feedback loop to continuously improve the process

  • Track recruiting metrics and report on hiring progress to company leadership

  • Build & manage external relationships with key sourcing partners such as third- party recruiters

  • Establish and champion our employer brand by collaborating with other internal partners to build and implement a recruiting marketing strategy, manage our careers page, and identify external opportunities to drive brand awareness

  • Create an incredible candidate experience for every prospect you interact with and act as a positive ambassador to the brand.


  • 5+ years of talent acquisition experience, preferably at a high growth tech startup

  • A proven track record of effective sourcing strategies for high demand, competitive candidate profiles

  • Ability to build recruiting strategies and manage searches for all functions in the organization and all levels.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a strong bias towards action

  • Exceptional communication skills

  • Educated and knowledgeable in recruiting trends

  • Knowledgeable about diversity & inclusion - you have executed strategies in the past in order to increase representation, broaden the talent pool, and ensure equal consideration for candidates at every step in the process.

Our Remote Policy:

For now and the near-term future, we are fully remote. We do plan on returning to an office at some point (likely 2022), and that office will be located in San Francisco. When we do, SF-based employees will have some hybrid WFH/WFO policy. Most roles at the company, including this one, can be fully remote. We currently have employees in 4 different US states, and 3 different countries.
