SequinAR is a full-service virtual production studio creating content for the Metaverse. We develop, create, and produce AR, XR, virtual sets and XR stages to get projects up and running quickly, with less complexity. In the role of Virtual Production Tech Artist, you will be hands-on in the creation, execution, and support of real-time virtual productions. We use a variety of tools, software, and hardware to deliver creative solutions on set with the director and crew as they film.
The Tech Artist is the primary user responsible for operating the real-time software stack, ensuring scenes are fully working and performant. Additional tasks include manipulating and aligning the scenes to match the shot list, and the matching of look and color, to create a seamless blend between the physical and virtual world in camera. The role reports to the Virtual Production Supervisor, and also collaborates and provides feedback to the CG Supervisor.
Operation and troubleshooting of Virtual Production systems
Assist with asset ingest, scene setup, optimization, and validation of look and performance of scenes in Unreal Engine
Evaluate CG work, identifying strengths and weaknesses, potential pitfalls
Match look and placement of digital environments, characters and set dressing to real world counterparts
Make scene adjustments to achieve the goals of the key creatives on-set, including lighting, animation, set dressing, and color correction
Perform tasks including: shading, lighting, vfx, procedural creation, simulations, performance profiling and optimization
Troubleshoot technical production issues in time-sensitive and high-pressure situations
Be aware of new technologies, techniques and processes that could benefit the studio
Strong artistic skills including a strong sense of color, lighting, perspective, scale, and composition
Excellent attention to detail and desire to consistently deliver high-quality work, and encourage those around you to the same standards
Demo Reel showing a strong sense of color, lighting, perspective, scale, and composition
Knowledge of Unreal Engine workflows, including knowledge of lighting, post-processes, material setup, and optimization
Understanding of Perforce and/or other source control software
Knowledge of traditional digital content creation software systems and workflows
Willingness to travel
Must be highly motivated, self-organized, and detail oriented
Experience with client communication and interaction
Knowledge of cameras, lenses, camera tracking systems and methods
Experience in film/tv virtual production
Experience or understanding of real-time Virtual Production pipeline
Experience with motion capture shoots
Technology specializing in any of our disciplines
