About the Team

Proto’s team is extremely global with 92% BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and Persons of Colour) and 50% female members working. We’re a remote team of self-starting and entrepreneurial NLP engineers, SaaS sales professionals, and digital nomads. Our management operates established processes for cross-cultural and timezone collaboration, while limiting Zoom to less than an hour a day 🙌🏼

Job Summary

As the Product Manager, you will work closely with Proto’s Engineering, NLP, Growth and CX department heads to define business requirements and SaaS platform specifications, aiming to achieve balance between quality, enterprise client satisfaction, user experience, and profitability. The ideal candidate brings in excellence in refining the UX of complex B2B SaaS platforms and a proactive attitude with “soft” communication skills.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Champion and translate intended solutions or product vision to actionable tasks and specifications, from strategic inception to delivery.

  • Support and/or manage requirements gathering through various techniques such as interviews, workshops, document analysis, brainstorming exercises etc.

  • Work within an agile environment, managing backlog grooming and sprint planning, estimations and story creation for Agile projects, including translating requirements into specifications in the form of Epics and Stories.

  • Use other methods if required to support the requirements such as use cases, process diagrams and wireframes using industry standard software applications.

  • Assist business stakeholders to establish project scope and facilitate requirement clarifications, collaborating with the development team to troubleshoot problems/roadblocks throughout the development cycle.

  • Manage and implement change management requirements to better enable success.


  • 3+ years of Business Analysis experience in Enterprise SaaS products.

  • 3+ years of experience with requirements gathering and information discovery (business, data, and tech requirements).

  • You have a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Management or related field.

  • Hands-on technical expertise, to understand and translate business requirements to technical requirements.

  • A deep understanding of software development in a team, and a track record of shipping high quality software on schedule.

  • A working background with Agile and Scrum Project methodologies.

  • Ability to capture/document detailed product requirements specifications using standard templates and processes.

  • Experience with Product Analytics tools to track usage and gain insights for data-driven decision making.

  • Ability to create, prioritize and manage the backlog for the product and its features.

  • Experience in organizing and presenting complex information in simple visual models.

  • Experience using tools such as JIRA, Trello, Figma and Zeplin.

  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.


  • Client-facing background and experience partnering with multiple stakeholders.

  • Previous experience with UX/UI design processes.

  • Previous experience in SaaS or AI companies.

  • Fluency in multiple languages.

Remote restrictions

  • Workday must overlap by at least 4 hours with Vancouver, BC, Canada
