About the Team
Proto’s team is extremely global with 92% BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and Persons of Colour) and 50% female members working. We’re a remote team of self-starting and entrepreneurial NLP engineers, SaaS sales professionals, and digital nomads. Our management operates established processes for cross-cultural and timezone collaboration, while limiting Zoom to less than an hour a day 🙌🏼
As a QA Engineer, you will own the design, develop and delivery of test strategies, methodologies and automation while taking a hands-on approach to see that they are implemented efficiently. This role is perfect if you have a passion for breaking things and a track record for increasing engineering quality.
Roles and Responsibilities
Conduct manual QA testing of new and existing products, performance and end to end product
Develop test scenarios and test cases based on business requirements and user stories
Create and maintain automated frontend test frameworks, test plans and test cases for our SaaS platform (Python, Node.js, Vue.js)
Identify and write bug reports
Ability to analyze potential issue and do root cause analysis and assign issue to the right development team
Follow up with Engineering and Customer Experience team members to see bug fixes through completion
Review bug descriptions, functional requirements and design documents, incorporating this information into test plans and test cases
3+ years work experience
Experience testing in mobile (iOS and android) and desktop environments
Experience with bug tracking software - experience with JIRA preferred
Solid understanding of AGILE methodologies and practices.
Solid understanding of QA methodologies, including planning and strategy design
Experience creating and maintaining automated frontend test plans and test cases for Python apps using test automation frameworks
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent attention to detail, with an ability to multitask and meet deadlines
Ability to work both in a team environment and independently
Aptitude to learn quickly and effectively
Strong time management and prioritization skills
Python 3 experience
Adept at finding the right tool for each task, avoiding the NIH syndrome
Previous experience in SaaS or AI companies
Experience with Docker
Fluency in multiple languages
