Role: Service Desk Engineer
At Kiwibot we are building the largest robotic last-mile delivery network to support operations in several environments from college campuses to cities across the US and Europe. As a Service Desk Engineer you’ll report to our head of AI & Robotics, it could be a great opportunity for you to join us! You should have the right technical knowledge, understanding and communication skills in order to diagnose, scale, and solve requirements from our Kiwibots fleet. You will also work to analyze robots data and convert them into new issues, enhancements, and features to other teams.
Locations: Medellin, Colombia (remote friendly after your onboarding is over)
As a Service Desk Engineer you will:
Understand deeply how the Kiwibot works, including the interaction between all their systems, from different perspectives (mechanical, electronics, software, connectivity).
Receive and track all the issues, incidents, and accidents presented during Kiwibots operation. This includes the diagnosis and solving of software problems, and the remote support to field operations personnel.
Participate in the design, develop, and testing of new fleet management software tools, as well as improve the Service Desk reports pipelines.
Analyze the available fleet data, and transform it into new features, issues, enhancements and requirements for the corresponding Teams (AI, Hardware, Manufacturing, Platforms, Operations, Data, etc). In the same way, present all the required and useful information that could be helpful regarding those requirements.
Be responsible for the fleet management duties, including the update process of the Kiwibot software.
Keep good, clear, and kind communication with the other teams.
This job might be the right one for you if:
You have experience in Python (Basics/Medium), C++(Basics, and nice to have), ROS/ROS2 (Basics), Git (Medium), Linux OS/Debian based platforms (basics/medium), basic network stuff (LAN/WAN), development IDEs, documentation practices, IoT platforms and services. You’ll also need knowledge of some sensor technologies (Lidars 2D, 3D, Stereo Cameras, Cameras, IMU, GPS) common communication protocols (Serial, I2C, CAN). It also would be nice if you have some approach to robotics area (mechanical, electronics, programming, etc) [ Chill if you don't have it all, you'll learn :) ]
Natural aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving.
The ability to be patient for debugging and go deeper.
Organize information and multiple tasks.
Keep good, clear, and kind communication with customers and coworkers.
Generate and communicate effectively useful information to other teams.
It would be nice if you have experience in a helpdesk or technical support environment
Have a degree on Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Automation, and other Engineering related fields.
You might have also had:
Spanish language skills (we are a Latin America start-up!)
Knowledge of electronics, electric engineering, or other similar technical fields
Experience starting or scaling a successful startup
Demonstrated interest in logistics, on-demand services, and marketplaces
