You’re a great Robotics Engineer with industry-proven experience building Delivery Robot system, a good understanding of startup priorities (e.g. speed over perfection), and the ability to communicate well across teams.
About the Role
As a Robotics Engineer, you’ll focus on developing a reliable outdoor mobile robot with reliable performance. Your main goal is to develop robot hardware that enables the operations team to operate more efficiently. You’ll contribute to the continuous improvement of the robot hardware and software fitting in our backend platform seamlessly. It is critical you are able to communicate well with each team to determine requirements for each project.
Proven ability to drive innovation in the engineering conceptualization stages by pushing technology limits on both hardware and software subsystem, while balancing feasibility criteria such as manufacturability, cost, technology risk, implementation schedule
Bias for action and delivering result, focusing on technical aspects of robotics R&D development, debug code and solve technical issues
Manage key components and Robot system testing to ensure Robot reliability, consistency and robustness
Leverage your expertise, creativity and robotics skill to help the project meet on time delivery in NPI stage
Support continuous improvement of existing products; support fielded products; perform analysis of field-reported issues and provide solutions
Develop CAD drawings for rapid part prototyping and final product design
Minimum 7 years full-time work experience in Robotics industry and lead or participate more than 3 robot projects before
Experience with battery pack, motor, motion control and sensor fusion is highly preferred
3+ years’ experience in an Electrical Engineering role involving the design and development of embedded hardware and firmware development
Experience with Mobile robotics obstacle avoidance system (LiDAR, Stereo Camera, Ultrasonic Sensor, Sensor fusion etc.)
Good knowledge of Design processes, including DFMEA, FEA, CFD, DFM etc.
Experience in mechanical design: 3D CAD proficiency, material, plastic injection molding, die-casting, sheet metal, machining processes, and assembly processes
Experience in electrical design: component selection, system architecture and documentation
Expert Level experiences with ROS including coding & developing robotics products, drivers and/or controller in ROS
Strong programming skills in Python or C/C+ and familiar with Golang, and/or Node.js.
Experience with NoSQL Databases (MongoDB)
Your Education Background
B.S. is required and M.S. is preferred in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics (or equivalent)
