Coco - Robotics Engineer Internship

Coco (formerly Cyanbot) is building the world's first mass market robotics company, beginning with sidewalk delivery robots. We deploy mobile ground robots in cities to create a cleaner, safer, and more accessible last-mile logistics solution.

About you
You're an experienced roboticist, whether that be from personal projects or prior internships. You have a strong understanding of ROS; you know your way around a terminal; and you're comfortable picking up a new sensor and wiring it up to a board. You're passionate about working with physical hardware, but most importantly, you've had plenty of experience working with electronics and writing software.

The role
As a robotics engineer intern at Coco, you will gain a ton of experience working on physical robots and making a large impact on our daily operations. This role is composed of two main functions: software and embedded electronics. You will write software that runs on the robots to accomplish a wide array of tasks such as: collision avoidance, hardware diagnostics, event logging, and data processing. You will also work directly on the hardware to improve sensor reliability and troubleshoot electrical issues. There is a strong emphasis on prior hands-on experience for this role.

Responsibilities

• Writing software to perfom tasks such as:
  • Data processing (video and other sensors)
  • Communicating with sensors
  • Performing hardware diagnostics
  • Event logging
• Writing scripts to perform tests
• Debugging electrical issues

Prior experience

• Worked on physical robots or electromechanical systems
• Experience with ROS
• Experience with embedded computers/microcontrollers (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Nvidia Jetson line, etc.)
• Proficient in C++ and Python
• Development in a Linux environment
